Back pain at 14? family history of back problems?
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010
Hello! Here is an interesting back pain question with some good answers.
my back has been sore for i don’t know how long. i’m only 14. everyone in my family has had some type of back problems. my mom has muscle problems in her back, my dad has scoliosis, and MS. my aunt had scoliosis surgery, my grandma has osteoporosis. so did my grandpa. i could go on and on. but for about the past year i have been having back pain. mostly in the upper and lower parts of my back. and like, on the sides, right beside my spine i have been having “back twitches” the muscles like contract once really fast, then it doesn’t happen again for like 3 weeks. my pediatrician said i have a little bit of scoliosis. but i just figured i grew out of it since it wasn’t in my latest x-rays. i has those x-rays done about 6 months ago. my shoulders are a bit slightly uneven, which i read is a symptom of scoliosis. but i don’t think it would cause pain. i take dance classes, which is when the pain is the worst. i get home right after, and lay down on the floor. and every time i lay down of my back, the lower part of my spine pops. i don’t know. but i just wanted to know if you have any suggestions. my mom said she would take me to her specialist if the pain got worse. what do you think this is?
Yahoo Answers always has very good back pain questions. Hopefully this one has benefitted you.
Have a happy time!
