About To Have Back Surgery What Can I Expect?
I was in a car accident a little over a year ago, I had a pre existing back problem that was retriggered, I have been through physical therapy, injections and a back brace. My orthopedic specialist informed me that surgery would be my best option. I am alittle apprehensive, but I am tired of being in pain. Can anyone tell me what to expect after surgery? What kind of lawsuit do I have? I was rear-ended on my way home from work in a construction zone.

I was in a car accident whilst travelling home from work in April last year and I had horrible sciatic pain in my left leg and chiro/gym/cortesone injections etc didn’t help.
So, I had a laminectomy at the L5/S1 level in July last year and since the operation, I have had pain in BOTH legs now. I have also lost 3 jobs in the last year due to time off work and now I’m on worker’s compensation so my employer’s insurance company are paying for my time off work.
I’m not too sure if it’s the same in your country, but here in Australia we can either go through a third party claim (this is the insurance company of the person who hit you) or as you were travelling home from work, you can go through your worker’s compensation insurer.
Unfortunately I can’t tell you if your operation will be a success because it’s different with everyone. I can say however that it helped the sciatic pain (shooting pain down the 1 leg) but now I have rotten pain in both legs plus pain at the operation site so alas, it wasn’t good for me.

“back surgery” is pretty vague. Is he talking about a spinal fusion? I had one of those in my neck in 95 (same procedure, just different area).
I’d be happy to share my experience with you if that’s what it is.

? what kind of back sugary.where on the back ?well i had spinal cord sugary. with fusion.i was almost paralyzed from neck down.i have problems from the neck to my lumbar.i was in a well chair. now i can walk yes i still have pain an wall ways will.but nothing like i did.like i said it depends on the kind of sugary.as fare as a law suit there is a time limit to fill. aim sure you have some kind of case but with out knowing more i could not tell you.
