After Having Had Scoliosis Surgery, Will I Have Back Problems As An Adult?
When I was 13 I had 2 rods and many metal hooks inserted into my spine, and my spine fused together. Do adults who had scoliosis as teens have more back problems than other adults? How will my health be affected by this surgery in the future?

Hello!
I had the same surgery at 14 and i am now in my thirties and i am fine apart from having back aches more often than i used too,
as when i was in my teens i didn’t have much pain after surgery then when i reached my twenties the pain became more frequent, but now that i am in my thirties the pain is even worse and more often,
and i was told at the hospital that i would have problems later on and that my back would cause problems for the rest of my life, and i may need more surgery,
but its not all bad i am living life normally so don’t worry you will be just fine, i can even ride my bike without problems too!
so having scoliosis doesn’t mean we cant live a normal life it just means we have to be more care full than others when it comes to our backs.

Oh. My. God. Surgery? You could have just went to a chiropracter! That’s what I did and my scoliosis is gone! It only took three visits a week for three weeks. Gone. Completely gone. And, no, the surgery made it go away completely so no future problems should accure. Just use good posture!

i dont think theres gonna be back problems
do your physical therapy exercises though
which i should be doing…
but your back should be pretty much the strongest of anybody you know. other than some pain your back should pretty much be fine

I know one woman who had scoliosis surgery as a teen and she has no health problems at all. Apparently it was a pretty severe case of scoliosis too.
