See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic surgeon), for consultation. The upper back and neck region is the most complex area of our body because of the many joints and how those joints work together.

The neck and shoulders can exhibit much the same difficulties as the lower back, such as pulled muscles, disc problems, arthritis, and other issues. While lower back pain affects our ability to ambulate, upper back pain affects our ability to perform daily activities like brushing our teeth or driving a car.

The two most common reasons for upper back and neck pain are trauma and muscle imbalances, the latter being responsible for what are called “postural dysfunctions.” These postural dysfunctions cause abnormal alignment of the head and shoulders and abnormal positioning of the joints that lead to increased wear and tear on the joints, muscles, and ligaments–even disc.

Your condition can be diagnosed by an MD, a physical therapist, or a chiropractor. But in order to get the most comprehensive picture of your condition, you may need to see more than one professional.

Cortisone injections, prescriptions for muscle relaxants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and bed rest are most commonly employed.

Chiropractic care and physical therapy can offer spinal mobilizations, hot packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cervical traction, and therapeutic exercises.
I hope this helps you. And good luck.

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about your pain. It may have been caused by some activities that left you often slouching. You may not notice but perhaps you may have bad posture? Or maybe you just need a rest.
Well anyway, here;s what i can share.

First, determine what’s the cause of the pains. Have you been in something that you soak on for too long? If so, try to get a few winks. You probably just drain out and you need to give you body a little space to heal itself up.

Then, if you have bad posture, get yourself a posture brace. they may cost a few dollars, but its worth it. Also, you can opt for free ways such as other says yoga, or diet and exercise. Free videos and articles over the internet if you want to know more.

Hope I helped. Get well soon. :)

    Best Regards,
    Kim

Increas your water to 64 oz per day. Try light streching. Get someone to give you daily messages. Heat pads are nice too. ( dont put them on your jaws) You may try some pain reducers like tylenol.
