Back Pain !!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I have had pain in my upper back and neck for about 10 years and although I have been seeing an NHS physio for most of this time , there has been little improvement. It is not too bad when I am active , but when I try to relax I get pins and needles and it really aches from my shoulder blades up.. If I lift my arm above shoulder height my hand is numb within a minute and Ifind it uncomfortable to sleep or lean on either shoulder.
All the hospital do is give me exercises ,which I do but I am getting fed up now…. any ideas ?

have u every tried acupressure? or acupuncture? Chinese medicine uses acupressure, and also acupuncture to not only relieve pain but to cure it. Most of the time they start with acupressure to push the pressure points in your body to stimulate endorphins to relieve the pain. after they do acupressure, if that does not work, they will use acupressure. I suggest you see your doctor about these alternative approaches.

Insist on having a scan of some sort.I have had severe back pain for nearly 2years now, after about 9months they decided to scan me.I have had loads of them. They found a fractured vertebrae and spinal collapse. They still have not discovered why this is happening but at least they are taking it seriously now,so keep at them.Good luck.

Acupuncture, I have never tried it myself as suffer with a more manageable back pain that responds to exercises
But they work on the nerves to treat people and it sounds as though what you are suffering is related to nerves
Many have been treated for vaiouse symptoms and would swear by it – might be worth looking into.

I agree with the person who said see a chiropractor, they are the specialist when treating the back and neck. Times are changing my chiropractor tells me she attends classes and exchanges info with MD’s. Chiropractors and doctors are starting to talk to one another and exchange info. Chiropractors are very good at reading x-rays, etc and seeing what’s wrong.
