Do Not Settle until you talk to a reputable worker's compensation attorney in your area. You're too young to have to deal with this type of injury for the rest of your life. There are options to have an "open settlement" that allows for future medical expenses that need to be looked into. I learned this too little too late! I have to either pay for my own medical care from a major injury I received on the job or suffer for the rest of my life because at 27 I settled after loosing a home, car, and almost my family. Looking back, I wish I hadn't settled. Make sure to cover yourself first.

This with type of injury you really need a worker compensation attorney. Call the State Bar in your area to find one or look in your local newspaper.
