So, if you get knee surgery or back surgery will you be a bit shorter?

Not necessarily. I think what happens is as people age, they lose bone density and get a little shorter, and it happens to coincide with a past surgery that they blame. As a nurse, I’ve never really seen an instance where a back/knee surgery case has resulted in a definite height loss.
