Can You Really Gain All Your Weight Back After Bariatric Surgery?

I’m talking 100%? After how long? Then why have the surgery? And what happens to the skin’s appearance if you had plastic surgery to get rid of excess skin AFTER the bariatric surgery once you gain this weight back??

Yes, it is possible. Surgery is a tool not a cure. You have to be motivated to continue to monitor your diet and exercise.
My husband has had the surgery and he goes to a support group. There are two women there, who had surgery and then regained. They never had the plastic surgery. The reason they regained was they did not adhere to their diet and watch portions. They gradually stretched the pouch left by surgery, until it was almost as large as before. They both lost over 100lbs only to regain. The majority of the group has kept up the weight loss. ( My husband too.) You have to make a conscience effort every day to eat correctly and exercise. He feels great and would never go back. He lost about 130lbs.

I had the surgery and go to a support group and in this time I see people that gain the weigth again. I know a woman that gain 80 lbs (she originally loss 150lbs) I also know of a case a man gain 200 lbs. But is not the majority the most part retain the weight loss. The person that regain the weight did follow the diet and believe that after the weigth loss this is all. The surgery is difficult but more difficult is to maintain a healthy life style. The person that I know that gain the weigth didn’t had the plastic surgery.
