My Sister Is Addicted To Morphine, Is This Tough To Overcome? She Needs Back Surgery Real Bad?

Anyone ever experience morphine withdrawal?
I have no idea how many mg. she takes per day, but a few x per wk. she told me she takes it.
She had hurt her back in two places real bad and probably needs surgery/goes to the doctor every couple of mo. she told me.

She will probably need professional help to kick a morphine addiction. It’s one of the worst ones. Her doctor may refuse to operate on her if she doesn’t get off the morphine first. Methadone used to be a common treatment for opiate withdrawal. I don’t know if it’s still used.
Incidentally, nicotine (tobacco) is only slightly addictive. The tobacco companies have a vested interest in smokers thinking that it’s highly addictive because that convinces the smokers that quitting is nearly impossible. If nicotine was as addictive as is commonly advertised, then nicotine gum and nicotine patches probably would be illegal or you would at least see clinics all over the place to help people get off their addiction to the gum or patches. There are no clinics because nicotine is not the extremely addictive substance it’s advertised to be.

morphine addiction is one of the hardest (next to tobacco) to kick and can be deadly if not done with the help and supervision of a professional

If she doesnt take it every day then she is not that addicted to it and takes for pain.
I was on morphine for a bit over a week and even though got smaller dose for a week after i had pretty bad withdrawal- only at night though – as soon as turn off the lights i started sweating like crazy and had insomnia. i also couldnt eat anything.
