Sever Lower Back Pain After A Night Of Laxatives What Can I Do Now?

I was severely constipated, I am chronically constipated and the doctor took an xray last week and I go for a follow up next week. Anyway yesterday the pain got too bad and I tried several types of laxatives. About 1:00 am I finally was relieved of my condition and made several trips the bathroom.
Now I am in severe pain in my lower back just above the buttocks area and the pain is on both sides. Pain laying down, more pain if I try to get up, pain while sitting up.
It is a constant strain sharp pain that hurts more when I move and it is only in the lower back area.
Yesterday it was my back and stomach that hurt, now after being relieved it is just the back.
Anyone ever experience this trouble and what worked for you to first get out of pain?
What did you do to prevent from being chronically constipated to get to this point?
I have tried increasing fiber, water, and exercise with little results.

My daughter has the same problem. She has tried all sorts of things (fiber, etc.), but to no avail. She went to an herbalist and they mixed up some herbs for her. They seem to be the only thing that will help her. Evidently she has a very sluggish colon, though she had a colostomy and they said she was fine. Just keep trying by drinking a large glass of water when you first get up and as much as you can through the day. Fresh fruits and raw veggies, too. Cut back on the amount of sugar that you consume because I’ve heard that it can cause constipation, too. You probably irritated your colon by the laxatives. Try to eat something soft that won’t keep it irritated. Exercise helps, too. If nothing else, try to walk at least 30 minutes a day. Otherwise, good luck.
