Should I get my Cartilidge Pierced? Just Wondering!?

Howdy! Here is a great back pain question for your perusal.
So, I’m fourteen and I’m in grade nine. A lot of girls have theirs done and I want mine done too. I don’t like the hoops with the little ball in the middle, I just like the studs with the colored rhinestone on them. I was wondering if when you first get it pierced if you have to the wear the hoop, because I don’t like them at all. And does it hurt? But include if you have a high pain tolerance or a low pain tolerance. Thank you!
Yahoo Answers always has very good back pain questions. Hopefully this one has benefitted you.
Have a good day!

aww I have the hoop with the ball
haha but it’s okay because I’ve had the stud with the pretty jewel too
you can get either. I got the stud first because I was in a sport and it was easier to hide but then I switched to a hoop for a while, then back to the stud and I am back to the hoop
I got the conch on the lower part of the cartilage. I have high pain tolerance and it didn’t hurt at all. It was a little sore after and hurt a lot if I slept on it :/
This is the conch

I’m 14 too. I’m in 9th grade too, &I got my cartilage pierced in 7th grade, &8th.
Yes yes, I have 2 cartilage piercings.
Its called a double helix, the one i have.
&It didnt hurt much.
I have a very high pain tolerance.
I have (have had) septum, snake bites, smiley, double helix, 6 lobe, frownie.
Cartilage really doesn’t hurt much, it goes numb right away.
&No you dont have to have the hoop in, I usually wear studs in em.
But I use the spiral hoop cause it looks cool.
This is how I had it when I tried to do the hoops. (Not me in ANY of the pics)

I think you may have a choice, studs are the better choice because they tend not to move around as much. Pain, well I don’t necessarily know, probably not too bad. I have had my nose done and I have a friend who has both her nose and cartilage done, she say’s the nose was much worse. I think the pain won’t be too bad. Maybe take an advil an hour before you get it done to help ease the pain if you are worried.
Just make sure you take care of it and you will be glad you had it done!
