Upper right abdomen pain.?
Howdy! Here is a good back pain question. Please feel free to add your comments to the mix!
My upper right abdomen area has been aching for at least a month. I went to the doctor once for my stomach hurting, but it was a belly button infection. Right now it feels like it burns. I can’t get comfortable to sleep. My back hurts. Whatever it is under my skin feels heavy and uncomfortable.
Anyone have any idea?

Appendix is lower right abdomen.
Your upper right abdomen (also called quadrant) contains your liver, duodenum, and gallbladder. Just above your liver is your diaphragm, ribcage, and lungs. This may be pain signaling something else is going on. Sometimes your body will send you conflicting messages, for example, when a man has a heart attack it’s likely that he will feel a shooting pain in either his left arm or in the middle of his back. This is called “referred pain”. There’s a whole diagram in my EMT book that illustrates that.
Also, was your bellybutton pierced and that’s why it was infected? Has your doctor put you on antibiotics? Sometimes our livers get a little overwhelmed and you can feel like your tummy is warm because of the energy radiating from your liver breaking down toxins and medications. If your doc did give you antibiotics, FINISH THEM, or your body will build a tolerance for that drug if you need it in the future.
My advice is to take an antacid, like Tums, and lie down for a while. If your right side still hurts tomorrow, then ask yourself if it’s getting progressively worse, staying the same, or getting better. If it’s the same, and it’s tolerable, maybe ride it out. If it’s worse, then I would see a doctor.

I had this and it was my gallbladder. Ask your doctor about it, I had to have mine removed.

appendix
