What Are Some Ways I Can Relieve Major Back Pain?

Last night, I went for a mile jog. About a half an hour after coming back home, I felt some pain in my lower left back. I put ice on it and took some Ibuprofen, but I woke up this morning and it hurt even more. I took more Ibuprofen, but nothing seems to be relieving the pain. I have an appointment with my chiropractor already set up for next week. Are there any other ways I can relieve the pain until then?

If you happen to have a bathtub, fill it with really warm water and buy some Epsom Salts at the store and soak your body in the tub for as long as you can stand it. Epsom salts are really good at relieving muscle pain! Or: Do you have a friend or family member that would be willing to massage your back for 10 minutes? This would also help! You might also try a heating pad on wherever the pain is the most intense.
    GOOD LUCK!

You did not cool down after the jog, likewise you did not have a nice hot shower after the jog which would have helped with the muscle soreness and stiffness. Sometimes ice is not as good as heat. Therefore jump in the shower now and allow the hot water to beat off the sore area for about ten minutes. Best of Luck
