get a professional exam and if ordered/ needed a MRI or CAT scan then take it from there.. a orthopedic surgeon will want to see the test results before deciding on surgery
If the bulge doesnt warrant surgery ?
rest for a while- dont lift or exercise
take anti inflammatory medications OTC or Rx
apply biofreeze cream to the injury site
since its been a month- apply heat to the back injury site
get a prescription for PT – 3 times a week for at least 4 weeks
